I’ve gone to the Tilt-Up Concrete Association’s website and found a list of the top ten projects. Everything from heaviest panel, to tallest panel, to the largest tilt-up project. Since everyone thinks tilt-up is the shiz i thought that this was a cool list.

I found this web-site where this group has come up with a better structural design for mid high rise building’s that requires close to half to the steel that current california codes call for, but results in a more stable design when subjected to shear forces. there is actually a video that you can watch that simulates their design in an earthquake. They are claiming and the only damages that have occured have been cosmetic damages. I thought it was pretty cool when I read the article and watched the videos. Follow this link.

I’m pretty interested in concrete things, mostly because thats what most of my experience comes in construction. So I was checkin out some concrete countertops on the internet, they are not really new or anything like that, but I think that some really awesome things can be done with concrete when making countertops out of it. At this web link there are some cool pictures of some different styles and designs that can be achieved through concrete work. . . or you can just google concrete countertops if you want to find additional photos. I watched a show about the Dubia tower and the construction statistics recently so i found a conceptual tower that would be even more impressive. The idea of having a tower basically acting as it’s own city is pushed even further.
